Our hospital continuously provides numerous opportunities for international exchange to stay at the forefront of global veterinary medicine and care.
International Exchange with Colorado State University (CSU), USA
Dr. Gen Kato, has been serving as a Visiting Professor at Colorado State University (CSU) since 1986. CSU is one of the top-ranked veterinary schools in the U.S. and is highly regarded globally, ranked 7th in the QS World University Rankings (2024).
CSU Official Website
Every year, through our “Externship Program,” senior students (final-year veterinary students) from CSU visit our hospital for a four-week training program, fostering deep connections between our institutions. In addition to student exchanges, we also invite specialists from CSU to conduct special seminars for our staff.
Notable among these experts is Dr. Eric Monnet, a leading authority in endoscopic surgery (since 2022), Dr. Sarah Shropshire from internal medicine (2024), and representatives from CSU’s ‘Argus Institute’ (since 2022), which specializes in supporting pet owners with terminally ill pets and providing grief care. Through these collaborations, we constantly learn from the latest advancements in American veterinary medicine and care.
Support for Participation in International Conferences
We place great emphasis on the continuing education of our staff. In addition to domestic seminars, selected veterinarians are supported in attending international conferences such as the ‘AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association)‘ Annual Conference, ‘IVECCS (International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium)’, ‘ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons),’ and ‘ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine)’. These opportunities help foster exchanges with specialists from various fields in the U.S. (Links to conference websites are in English only)
